I'd like to express my frustration here – through this Blog.. I wanted to call everyone's attention to bear with me. Don't get me wrong or misinterpret my intentions. I just want to see us united and more open-minded.
What is it with us? Why do we still have this attitude, this Crab Mentality? Why can't we have more flexibility with everyone?
We came here to Canada to improve our lives and our attitude as well and to educate ourselves. But what I have experienced was very embarrassing and frustrating. At my workplace, few employees were against one another, and all were Filipino. They always got in trouble at work. The worst part is Filipino always seem to get involved with gossip that hurts other people's feelings. There have been several incidents of fighting when they confronted each other in public. I feel this is just too much drama, very embarrassing.
Then, we sometimes accuse other nationalities, saying that we are being discriminated against. My question is, "Can you blame them?" If we don't respect ourselves, how can we gain respect from other people?

Why can't we have a peaceful mind without talking about other people’s lives? Is this because of how people grow up and learn in our home country? I've been to the Philippines a few times, and I observed that people are completely into gossip TV shows from small kids to retired people, glued to their own TV screens. I'm concerned that these children will grow up to learn nothing but gossip instead of learning something more productive, more developed skills like learning English speech or learning how to speak with more correct pronunciation or improving their social skills and proper manners so that if they go abroad, they could use their knowledge and be accepted with flying colors.
One thing I don't like about our attitude is that we could love to criticize our own people and/or other nationalities, but we don't accept criticism for our own selves. We tend to react too quickly, oversensitive. Is this because we watch too many drama series? Instead of learning something educational, you would prefer to let your kids watch those mindless comedy slapstick movies. Even in our film industry, compared to other Asian countries like China, Korea, and Japan, we were so behind in terms of making great quality films with the exception of Kisapmata, Himala, Brutal, and Oro Plata Mata. Since then, we have not moved on. We have been stuck creating these worthless overly dramatic or trashy comedic movies. Don't be surprised when your children learn to speak with silliness and Gay stupid jokes easily adapted. Makes you wonder , why theres so many gay pinoy in the Philippines population ?, from new Generation to little kids. some people jokingly said even the newly born babies destined to be gay as they grow older. Im amazed how some adult women even those Lovely "pretty face" Celebrities speaking manners using such a dirty fool gay languages, so low... sad.

In my opinion, if you’re a college graduate, why not invest your knowledge in our country instead of going abroad and working as a nanny? this is just like being a slave! It doesn't make any sense to me. If you study hard and complete your education, then start establishing yourself in our beloved country and not in a foreign country and working with people of a different culture. I have known some people who, after working as a nanny, applied to be an immigrant. Later, they developed bad attitudes, arrogantly thinking they were better than the rest of the world, feeling rich.
Sure Filipinos are generous and hospitable, yet they are backstabbers, preferring to see you going down than to see you yielding fruit. Let us be productive rather than destructive. But one thing is for sure! Let's stop this negative attitude, this crabby mentality for once. Try it for one day. Avoid gossip! That would have a lasting positive effect on you. Learn to say, "I'm happy for you," instead of being jealous or pulling someone down. Take away those negative thoughts, and always be positive. Be nice. And hopefully, somehow you will pass that positivity on to your next generation.
note: this photo was all over online , WTF !!! it gives bad impression for Pilipino gay community.
